For our client, a medium sized global logistics company specializing in air- and oceanfreight and with a very strong foothold in the Nordic region, we are looking for a Commercial Managing Director to launch the company in Finland. This is a key position, including the challenges of establishing a new player in the Finnish market. The office will be located in Helsinki. He/she will report to the managing director in Sweden. 

The person in this position is required to have a thorough experience in freight forwarding. You must also be a commercially driven person who can approach potential clients, big and small. In this case already existing client relationships could prove valuable. This task also requires you to take a leading role during the implementation phase.

The main tasks are:

• To develop a customer base, pre-dominantly through generating new business
• To attend to current customers and develop their busines
• To take a leading role when implementing new business
• To ensure that sales targets/budgets are met
• To develop and lead planned activities in line with the long term goals of the company
• To ascertain compliance with company policies 

The person in this position is required to have a thorough experience in freight forwarding industry, to have a very strong commitment, drive and business sense. You have a proven track record from the logistics industry and good relationship with clients.and a minimum of 3 years sales experience. It goes beyond saying that the nature of this position requires a person who is very much ”hands on”. For the right person the position has excellent career-opportunities.

Most likely you have a university degree in logistics and/or economics/marketing.

Fluency in Finnish and English is required and thus the job description on this site is given in English only.

Operations Manager – Helsinki

The main tasks for the operations manager we are looking for are:

• To be responsible for the air- and oceanfreight operations
• To take an active part in sourcing services from sub-contractors (eg. terminal/s and distribution)
• To actively participate in the daily production planning and shipment handling
• To ensure a customer service which is second to none
• To secure that KPIs as set by the company are met
• To actively develop and implement improvments
• To enhance efficiency in the supply chain for the customers

The operations manager will work cloesly with the commercial manager / managing director.
The person in this position will have excellent career opportunities.

You are required to have at least three years experience in a leading position within the logistics industry, including staff management. Furthermore you must have at least three years experience from air and ocean freight forwarding operations.

Besides Finnish, it is necessary to be more or less fluent, oral as well as written, in English and Swedish.
